Join us for one of the "smaller" challenges in the Adirondacks. The Tupper Lake Triad. This challenge is 3 mountains that are all relatively short.
The first peak we will do is Mt. Arab which is also a Fire Tower on the ADK Fire Tower Challenge. It's a relatively straight forward 2 mile and 750 foot elevation round trip hike. The views from the top are quite lovely, and there's even a nice bench at a viewpoint looking out over the valley. Then we'll drive over to Goodman Mt. This mountain was renamed in honor of civil rights activist Andrew Goodman who was murdered in Mississippi in 1964. This is a little longer than Arab, coming in at 3 miles and 580 feet of elevation. It starts with a short walk on an old road, then its a quick climb up to some lovely views at the peak. Finally, to round out the challenge, we have Coney Mt. This is another short and sweet hike coming in at 2 miles and about 575 feet of elevation. It's a little more rugged than the other 2 peaks in trail quality, but it does once again have some lovely views from the top. In total, for all 3 hikes it's about 7 miles and 1800 feet of elevation. I would expect this to take us around 8 hours to complete all 3, including driving between the peaks.
Rain date is July 19.
